
Hailing from Annapolis, Maryland and currently based in New York City, Warren Louie has established himself as an in-demand bassist on the New York music scene. He has performed at venerable venues and festivals, notably Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Blue Note NYC, the Detroit Jazz Festival, the Newport Jazz Festival, and Duc des Lombards and has performed and recorded alongside renowned musicians such as Ari Hoenig, Manuel Valera, Alan Broadbent, Chris Potter, Cy Leo, Majid Kaliq, and others. As a leader he is preparing to record his debut album as a collaboration with singer-songwriter Sophia Rogers, featuring Moshe Elmakias on piano, Noah Hogan on guitar, Jonas Esser on drums and Cole Palensky on tenor saxophone.
A passionate educator, Warren currently teaches at Larchmont Music Academy in Westchester, New York as well as privately in person and virtually in the NYC area. He has also taught at masterclasses in the Portchester school district and recently performed and taught for a two-week period in Costa Rica through NYU. Warren holds a bachelor's degree in jazz performance from NYU and has studied privately with Drew Gress, Dezron Douglas, Alex Sipiagin, Billy Drewes, Ari Hoenig, Martin Wind, Chris Potter, Lenny White, Brad Shepik, and Adam Rogers.
